Branded Interaction.Works , the hybrid Collaboration Room, designed and installed by the workspace innovator DVSI (working in partnership with multiple technology providers), has gone live for external bookings. The 40-person capacity dedicated high tech space was created as a direct audio visual industry response to the emerging Hybrid Working trend as companies begin shaping the Future of Work.

At the Collaboration Room’s heart is the very latest Prysm 6K LPD Prysm 190 inch digital canvas, supported by Prysm Systems’ Synthesis software platform which delivers exceptional digital productivity via an enhanced collaboration experience, driving employee engagement, streamlining communications, and helping your teams make the connections that matter. This impressive, fully-interactive multi-user digital surface is integrated with a Volanti Displays touch-enabled Trolley offering an Ultra-HD 4K (3840 x 2160) screen. The motorised touch-screen workstation enables multiple collaboration use cases with robust lift and tilt mechanics that adjust display height and move it from completely horizontal to vertical.

The Volanti Trolley features the highly responsive clear InGlass touch technology, flat ‘no raised bezel’ surface with toughened edge-to-edge glass that is sealed to protect against minor spills. This display is supported by a dedicated Next Unit of Computing (NUC) fanless minicomputer and provides a gallery interface for remote participants to join in-room sessions via Teams/Zoom conferencing.

The Collaboration Room’s system also integrates the Epiphan Video Pearl-2™ which is an all-in-one video switcher, recorder, streamer, splitter and scaler. With six video inputs and four for XLR professional audio, 4K streaming and recording, NDI support, chroma keying, and much more, the Pearl-2 brings the professional features and processing power required for the most demanding live events. In this application, the Pearl-2 is to be linked to other Interaction.Works sites using the secure digital SRT streaming interface.

The highly immersive, interactive experience is further enhanced by integrating a Sony SRG X-20 network camera within built-in edge video analytics for chroma keying and easy data extraction. The Sony system allows for professional level, non-greenscreen chroma key capability. It captures the foreground subject, whatever the background, and creates a range of templated broadcast views. The data extraction system is perfect for whiteboarding sessions in which analogue writing sessions are automatically captured and shared via a digital GUI.

For wirelessly connecting and sharing content from your device of choice and displaying it on the Prysm surface, capturing on-screen annotations or inking during a content review session, the Collaboration Room system integrates ScreenBeam 1100 Plus. ScreenBeam enables seamless sharing of screens from an array of devices using native operating system capabilities.

The audio equipment supporting the room is also state of the art. Four Shure Microflex speakers and two Dante-enabled Shura MXA710 Linear Array Microphones have been integrated. This microphone has been designed for high-quality audio capture in premium AV conferencing environments. The MXA710 includes proprietary Shure IntelliMix® DSP and Autofocus™ technology that provides all the processing needed for echo and noise-free conference audio.

The Collaboration Room also has studio quality three point lighting to enable traditional group chroma-key and professional-studio level presentation capture for high end session streaming.

The Interaction.Works space also showcases optimised collaboration furniture, including the TeamMate Workszone Trapeze Table which is motorised for height adjustment and mobile. It includes its Compact TechWell™ allowing for complete cable management with easy access for integration and maintenance with no trailing cables.  A centralised connectivity module CCM is a fixed feature of the Compact TechWell that accepts input/output connectivity and power points. Coloured team box seating is used to support easy redesign of seating arrangements in line with numbers set to attend meetings face to face.

It does not end there as the Collaboration Room has a large custom-made five metre Whiteboard Wall which comes pre-fitted with the innovative Scribit Design device for automatically transferring diagrams and designs onto walls using a non-permanent ink.

The first Collaboration Room is located on the ground floor of Scale Space - White City, in the heart of a newly-designated Innovation District for West London owned by Imperial College.  The impressive 200,000 square foot Scale Space building provides a home to Imperial College Business School, Blenheim Chalcot’s portfolio of venture businesses and an increasing number of scale-ups in the digital and life sciences sector.

Scale Space offers its members a unique combination of onsite university connections, venture building know-how and co-working office space with communal facilities to help them scale rapidly and successfully.

Interaction.Works is the brainchild of Richard Cobbold, founder of DVSI who has teamed up with Prysm Systems and Scale Space in response to the massive changes in working practices driven by the pandemic:

Interaction.Works is London’s first dedicated Collaboration-As-A-Service showcase – combining the very latest in large scale collaboration technologies with  on demand professional facilitators and accredited training programs to ensure optimised business outcomes and enhanced digital productivity in the ‘new normal’.

“These are the technologies and business practices that have underpinned the competitive edge previously enjoyed only by the big multinationals. Interaction.Works, for the first time, makes these available to businesses of all sizes to rent by the hour, day or longer.

“As businesses begin to rationalise their workspace requirements around Hybrid Working, at-home employees will need to seamless mix with in-office teams. Interaction.Works shows how this is possible, either on-demand in our specialist shared facility or deployed directly to a corporate customer’s own workspace.”

Whether companies bring their teams together once a month, once a quarter or once a year, accessing Interaction.Works Collaboration Room experience allows firms to benefit on demand from a fully managed, fully-catered, tech-supported and high spec innovation environment.

Cobbold added:

“We ensure these spaces are highly accessible. We surround them with technical support and specialist training capability – and ensure that each and every time an organisation gets it teams together the purpose of that meeting is achieved: creativity is unlocked, deals get over the line and those that cannot physically be there have the same high quality, immersive experience as those that are.”
